After no more than 30 miles, it started to cut out on motorway, I kept having to bump it off. Then as I was leaving the motorway it shut down fully and wont re start. I have also just had the electronic actuator refurbished as that was faulty before. I have read the codes and got P0251.
1. Battery Capacity Diminished. Far and away the number one reason that your Mondeo won’t start in the cold is the battery. A battery has two different ratings, cranking amps and cold cranking amps. The only way you will get it going is to use a hand primer, prime the system from the filter, then connect the other end to pipe between fuel filter and fuel pump. Problem is it won't start. New battery and will turn over but won't kick into life. Have detached fuel pipes from filter to the engine, no fuel getting to engine but is being returned. Even bypassing this an pouring straight from a funnel to ensure diesel is gettin to engine still nothing. Snap on diagnostic computer finds no faults.

Place the tool for locking the sprocket (303-1151) in the access hole and rotate it clockwise to lock the sprocket in place. You will need the other special tool (310-083a) now to loosen the three pump mounting bolts through the locking tool holes. Loosen the four sprocket mounting bolts and remove from sprocket.
